Overall, people generally like the Full Code Medical Simulation app, finding it educational, realistic, and helpful both for medical students and those with an interest in the medical field, though there are some issues with bugs, subscription costs, and a desire for more free content and better explanations of medical terms and procedures.
Best app for real world practice. This type of technology changes a lot, even if it just settles nerves without doing a pretend play and being critiqued in front of your peers. This feels just as real. Having the tabs on the side, and having an attending w options to help, only where you need, by adding a few differentials to eliminate the rest. You can consult a specialist. Super fun and Im not even a medical professional but i should have been. Its a hobby... But i could be a good dr.
As a lay person, the four free cases that I was able to complete were thoroughly prepared, with all related medical terminology. There are info buttons to get some information on terminology, but it really helps to look up the details elsewhere and quick before your patient gets worse! Just the right amount of adrenaline in this app. Great for those interested in the medical field and good refresher for medical students. You can make suggestions in-app after each case.
I like this app as a platform for case studies. Although, I tried to upgrade to the pro version for additional rationals and there is a permanent error that would allow that to happen. However, the basic version works for what I need. I just wish I had the access to all those pro scenarios! It would be nice if there was similar app/version more geared toward nurses rather than playing the provider.
Fun even for people who arent in the medical field (like me), thanks to features like hints and red text when a test comes back abnormal. You can change the difficulty if you are in the field though. The grading you get after each case also gives you an explanation of what you did right and wrong so you can learn the procedure.
I wish so much that there was a version of this geared towards prehospital medicine! (EMT/Paramedic work) even then, aside from the extra of doing labs and meds, it's so interesting seeing a huge improvement between when I played around with this app prior to my EMT program versus after. It's also helped to settle a lot of nerves going in to that area of work and I feel pretty good about retained knowledge from my program! The attending and debrief are extremely helpful as well!
I absolutely love this app. It is very educational and makes learning a difficult subject fun. I would recommend this to anyone who has an interest in medical treatments even if you are not a student or professional because the skill settings allow you to learn by doing. Hint for the other non med school peeps - click on the nurse often and take notes, the simulator will teach you.
Downloaded it today. It's a very good app, but after solving one case, it started freezing when loading or solving another one. As a result, I restarted and reinstalled it multiple times, but the issue persisted . Now, it crashes whenever I launch it. It hasn't even been 24 hours after downloading.
Changing to one star given they can't seem to add an option for degrees celcius, despite a us/si option toggle. I feel it would be trivial to update this, however I have been using app for more than 2 years and paying full price, but they apparently don't care about the rest of the world which is kind of sad.... Will not be renewing next year if it's not addressed.
the patient ai talking to me in sms text message style is amazing and i asked whatever i wanted and it replied as a human would. the tabs are confusing, the procedures are hard to find even if i know what i want.. theres no turf to speech pathology but the guy had dysphasia.. the free cases are only 4 total, update the app to fully free but with ads, im not paying especially not a subscription! unintended bonus: i get to study the drugs for free like atorvastatin or metoprolol etc +50 moreLOVEIT
Solved once case now as I try for a second the app is freezing, and then crashing. Restarted, and reinstalled multiple times with no fix.
