Reviews Summary
Overall, users find Foodvisor - Calorie Counter helpful for tracking food intake and macronutrients, but they note that the app has several issues, such as inaccurate food data, subpar scanning features, limited integration with fitness apps, and an interface that can be inconsistent or confusing for entering and modifying entries.
I like the app and it has been super helpful so far, I like the recipes, but I wish you could break down parts of the recipe when putting in journal, because I may not like to make all parts of the recipe, or wish to substitute ingredients suggested, which would make totals inaccurate. Also ,It says it works with Google Fit to log activity, but it's not working for me, I did pay for the yearly version.
I LOVE this app. I'm giving it three stars because as good as it is, there are some big areas that could be improved. 1) when you are trying to add foods you can only see partial names and descriptions of that food are covered by the next choice. You can't read them. It makes choosing the right food difficult. 2) in grinding quantities are all over the place. Some items have choices of Oz, grams, or serving size. Some have the previous options plus top. TBLSP, cup, etc. Out of space.
The app is simple and efficient for tracking calories and macros, so it does a great job of the primary purpose for which it is intended. The articles and "classes" are a nice touch as well. However, food tracking and nutrition education go hand-in-hand with other functions. It leaves some to be desired in activity tracking. The search function could alsi be improved. When searching for a food, for example, the word-for-word match was the 15th result down the list.
I hate this app. I like to cook for myself, and just spent a truly annoying hour trying to figure out how to add a recipe. I scanned a can of beans that I added to my chili. It has 3.5 servings. I can't add that, it's either 3 or 4. Not useful for calorie tracking for me. Also, I immediately disliked giving certain foods negative connotations. Foods aren't good or bad. Seriously. App thought that me losing more than 150 pounds in 11 months is a healthy plan. Not sustainable long term.
I'm really between a 3 & 4. Not 5 because it could be better. I got the yearly subscription just for the scanning feature, but that is not the best. The library seems outsated and lacking. Like it's put together by us, the users and not an accurate database. I have used better scanning apps. I have a lot of notes for this feature alone. Needs major improvement in every way. But I love the courses and the information. There's also an accountability component. I feel the tools gained as valuable.
I like the food diary. It's fast and easy to add food which makes it much more likely I'll use it. I also like the daily classes, although they are a tad longer than suggested, they're nice. However I paid extra for the meal plans and the plans they gave me were a tad insane? I added up all the groceries I would need and it came out to $394.22 for ONE WEEK. Which was really funny, but not sustainable. Also they said their was a community of some sort, haven't seen one yet.
I really like this app. it's simple and helped me with disordered eating by allowing me to feel in control without restricting. though I don't like that there are sad faces for foods. I feel like all that does is make people feel guilty. the different colors do the job just fine. id give 4 stars if the recent update hadn't added the streak feature. it pops up every single day after every single meal and it's SO obnoxious. it feels like a load screen. it drives me insane.
Update - I'm 44 days in on the app and have lost 14#. I know that doesnt seem like much but this is all food related. Ive been unable to exercise due to spine peoblems so the weight loss is soley from using this app. I really like this app! It's helping me keep my goals in line, tracking my meals and learning about why I eat the way I do and the choices I make how they affect me. I would love it if they could make it compatible with samsung health, I have to manually log my steps/walking.

Hello 👋 Thank you very much for your comment, we're delighted you like the app 😍
The course has great info. The requirement to subscribe upfront is what gave me issues. I wanted to test features out. I did not like the lack of items logged and the photo log does not work properly. Customer service for help regarding subscription is lacking. I asked to be placed on monthly instead of yearly plan on day 16 and was told not possible. I paid extra for nutrionalist but customer service said this is not a thing anymore. Would not refund the extra portion paid! Scam!
I like it, but I really wish you could edit the meals category in the diary settings to add or take a meal, like a snack. You only have breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack. You can move them around and rename them, but that's all. I want to be able to add another meal, like add another snack, so instead of eating 4 times a day, it'll split up your calories so that you can eat 5 times a day.
