Review Summary
People generally like the Finch: Self-Care Pet app, appreciating its customizable features, no ads, and its ability to improve self-care routines and mental health while having fun; however, some users are concerned about the price of the premium version and some technical and design issues.
There are so many ways to customize this to meet your needs and it's fun so you're more likely to actually use the app. The free version still has a lot of options to be fully functional but well worth the deal for a year of the Plus version. They also give you an email to remind you to cancel the free trial for Plus in case you don't want to keep it 2 days before the trial ends.
I love it! However, I personally think that the amount of energy it takes to fully energize your finch, should depend on how many goals you've set for yourself, because, if my finch is fully energized, what's the point if there's no reward after that? Just my opinion. Also, if you need 30 energy to send your Finch on an adventure, if your complete goals or reflections that send you over that, I think that should go towards the Finches adventure time being decreased, if that makes sense.
Amazing and effective! I originally joined so my friend could get the award for inviting new people, but had low expectations. I have been using it for a month now & have seen a significant improvement in my mental health & productivity. The app helps me sort out which tasks need to be done everyday & allows flexibility with how often a task should be completed. The first aid kit has helped with a meltdown and multiple panic attacks. I'm feeling more confident, proud, and grounded. Tysm Finch!!!
only been using this app 3 days and I can tell a lot of heart was put into it. a lot of self-care apps are full of ads, pressuring you to buy premium, are cheap looking and aren't even that useful. this app is fun, cute, and surprisingly thorough for being free and without ads. I totally recommend this for people who take better care of others than themselves, as your little bird friend only gets better if you do! and I want my bird to be happy :)
This little app is charming. Gamifies and rewards you for taking steps of self care - simple things like drinking water and brushing your teeth, tasks that can be really difficult for some people. The friend system allows you to send bits of encouragement to others. I wish my character could be a little more metal, but it's been fun playing to support my family members.
I love this app, its so cute and really has excellent tools avalible for free. Some quality of life upgrades I think finch could add to their premium tier though is 1. The ability to "folder" goals from a journey so they take up less space on the board unless you open the drop down. 2. The ability to send short messages when you send good vibes so they feel more personal (i think it would be especially good if you needed to give users special permission to be able to do this which would allow)
This is a wonderful app! I enjoy talking to my birb (her name is Twinkle) and I love the many self care tools it has to offer. The first aid kit is a great addition as well (I have tried the breathing exercises. Very tranquil). Furthermore, there are no ads. I have used this app for about a month, and I have seen major improvements in my self-care. The only reason I can't give five stars is because of a bug that won't let you go back to Finchie Forest after using the Travel Agency. Thank you!
Very cute app! It's unfortunate that some accessories and stuff are locked behind the Premium subscription, but it's not a huge deal. My only thing is, I wish it was possible to turn off the app's sounds or at least turn its volume down, because if I'm listening to Spotify at the same time, it cuts out the music really weird and I can't hear it anymore
I love the idea of this app, but despise the end product. The more basic tasks (the ones I would like motivation to do) are locked behind a paywall. A $10 a month subscription! That's crazy expensive! I tried to go the free route for a few days, but found that the reminders for the few free tasks I could get wasn't really helping me in the end. I wish the paywall wasn't there, or maybe if it was a one time purchase, I would do that. I feel like the makers of this app are too greedy
It's helpful in some cases... I wish there was a way to distinguish importance of tasks. For instance, being able to customize how much energy or gems a task would give your birb. This would make me more motivated to complete tasks I consider difficult. There also isn't any kind of punishment for skipping or not completing a task for weeks in a row. It's nice to not have to worry about sometimes, but getting that extra little nudge would be a literal game changer.
