Review Summary
Overall, people generally like The Blood Type Diet® app, appreciating its helpfulness in managing their diet and health, though users have reported issues with recipe inaccuracies, navigation difficulties, and a lack of updates in certain areas.
App needs to add ethnicity to ensure accuracy of food list and recommendations to every individual. Not just the majority. Purchased it thinking it would align with the book and make choosing foods and recipes easier. But it did not. I still have to refer back to the book to further filter certain foods cause I am of African descent. So I can't use the food list or recipes.
LUV this app. I have been using it for a very long time and appreciate how up to date it always is. It's plain and to the point. No need for fancy graphics or pictures. If I wanted that then I would use only the books. I wanted a precise app that gives me the right information and that is what this app does. Short and to the point with no gimmicks. Thanks !!!!!

Wonderful to hear. Thanks!
I love the food lists. The recipe section is frustrating to navigate. I perform the search for my type, then open a recipe. Navigating back to my search list then doesn't stay on my search. Also, when I read a recipe on say, page 4, I can't get back to page 4. The app takes me back to the beginning on page 1 again and again, making the recipe function user Unfriendly. Thx!

I absolutely love the blood type diet! It is the only path that has helped me to loose weight & actually see results in my health. To have an app for it has been incredible! Super easy to use. I only wish there was a more extensive list for herbs by blood type. They are an important part of my holistic path. The food lists haven't been updated in some time from what I can tell although I am now seeing foods in grey that are unknown. Hopefully this means an update is coming.
Developer response:
Unknown foods are described in the FAQ within the app. Basically, there is not enough data to make a determination for all the blood types. An app update is in the works, but will not include additional foods. Thank you for your feedback.
This app keeps all the information & food lists for my blood type at my fingertips as well as creating a shopping list if desired. Also information regarding characteristics of people w/ your blood type, exercise recommendations, etc are great reminders. I've used for years with no glitches. Information is the most updated available. A bargain!

Can't trust the recipes? I'm a little frustrated as I hoped this app would be helpful. I filtered by the O blood type on the recipes and Potato soup comes up ok to make, however it's clearly full of items Os are not supposed to eat? the chart in the recipe itself even shows the individual ingredients as Avoid. So why would it come up for the O filtered diet? Basically, I can't trust the recipes, which is frustrating, because it was a large part of why I bought the app.
Developer response:
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Our app provides a link to the recipes. The recipe in question has now been corrected. The food categorizations in the app itself are correct. I apologize for the inconvenience. We encourage users to contact us at [email protected] for help - hopefully before leaving a review. Feedback is welcomed.
Perfect. Does everything I expected and more. This allows me to quickly search for a specific food to check if it's good for my blood type. It also categorizes all the foods in its database so you can get inspired to try new and benefitial foods if you didn't have anything particular in mind. It also has a shopping list! It may not look the fanciest but I wouldn't change a thing about it.

Great to hear. Thanks!
This app really does help with diet I found a few meals I was able to put together for families with type o and type a blood. Like others have said pictures of the different foods would be nice to have. I believe IF a free version were to be made it could show examples of how the app works and like 4-6 foods. Examples as to why these foods are good for the different blood types would be helpful along with cross referencing to the online book if both are purchased. Great app.

Thank you for your feedback and constructive suggestions. Much appreciated.
LIFE CHANGING!!! This has helped me lose a significant amount of weight once I finally knew which foods were beneficial for my blood type so I could make better choices. On some occasions when I eat an avoid food I can definitely feel the toxic effect, whether it's an upset stomach or headache, etc. I even recommend it to friends and co-workers. 8 years and counting using this app and I've dropped 5 clothes sizes from a 12 to a 2.

1. You need to pay again if you want to test whether or not you're a secretor 2. Pay again for list of "supplements", they don't just give you a list of vitamins and 3 the search tool for which foods or recipes are beneficial is atrocious for mobile app. This is obviously an app for a book, you can easily find all this information for free on Google without someone trying to sell you more junk. Wasted 4$. *From 3 stars to 1. Disregard for my entire review, its NOT easy browsing via app (check 3)
Developer response:
Testing for secretor status requires a lab test and can not be covered by cost of our Blood Type Diet app ($3.99 USD). Think of our app as a tool that enables the user to easily search for blood type categorized foods while in the kitchen, out shopping or at a restaurant — much easier than doing an individual web search for each food.
