Review Summary
Overall, people are generally dissatisfied with Sweatcoin・Walking Step Counter due to its unreliable step tracking, significant battery drain, and limited, often unappealing rewards, although some users appreciate the fitness motivation aspect.
Boost never works, almost always counts 0 steps. I just walked nearly 2,000 (as per the count on the app) and it counted 48 in the total boost. Also, a cash out option would make this app worth it. I don't want to earn coupons for unnecessary purchases just to spend more money, not save. I can't imagine paying for premium on this app.
Latest update is draining my battery like crazy. I was wondering why my battery was going so quickly so I checked my phones settings and found that SweatCoin used 43% over night! Also, there's nothing good to use the coins on. It's all advertising, even the "deals" you can use your coins on. Then when you use those coins (which I only did once) you get targeted ads for the product you just got. It's all hot garbage.
I would like to give this a higher rating, but it keeps breaking down. I have had to uninstall and re-install this app a few times this week because it's not picking up my steps. It works one day and then doesn't the next. I just walked three hours straight and got zero steps, but when you look into the days activity, it stated i have over 5000 steps. They give you pennies on the penny. 7200+ steps to get 1 coin in the sweat wallet, and you do that and don't get the 1 coin in your wallet.
I would give this app a 5 star rating, initially; but it's grown so much, I think original investors got forgotten. I've been using it for years. Had tried to remember to turn it on and saved it up. On the initial app, the offers are mostly coupons and sweepstakes. You can now finally withdrawal it to a crypto wallet, it was becoming worth that time spent. Now my life is too busy to remember to redeem one app to another manually, and the inital saved up Sweatcoin won't be getting distributed.
Played with it a bit. I walk 12-15k steps a day at work so it seemed like a pretty easy way to rack up some crypto. If this is your goal, you're wasting your time. Sweatcoin doesn't transfer to your wallet or convert like it's says it will, just says keep walking. Now, if you want to earn money to spend on coupons, I guess this could be your thing. Shame, great concept. Essentially, they're giving you useless currency both fiat and digital.
The app stopped counting my steps out of nowhere. It worked perfectly for days. Then one day it just stopped. No updates on either the app or my phone and it stopped working. I did all the recommended troubleshooting. I even contacted support and all they said is that it's incompatible with my device. I have a galaxy s23 ultra, if it's not compatible with my phone then what is wrong with your app?!
I don't know why but all of a sudden the app is draining my battery like crazy, it was nice earning sweatcoins in the background but I might have to Uninstall it at this point because I'm losing about 1% battery every 1-3 minutes which is utterly insane. Especially if I am saying that no other app I have drains it as fast as this one. I've tried every fix that I can but nothing works, which leads me to believe that whatever was in the last update is whats causing this to happen.
The app could be better. Linking health apps like Google Fit and Samsung Health should be easier for current steps counted. In addition, it does not sync the whole month with those apps. it would be nice if it synced with those apps when they are opened. In addition, the steps from my watch are not counted until the next day. Which voids any boost opportunities. There is so much potential for a great app. Please keep working on this.
I'm unhappy that the app hasn't had the donate button in over a week. I hope this isn't permanent. There's nothing else I want to spend my sweatcoin on -- the items I'm the shop are pretty lame and the bid items have too much competition to be winnable. The conversion of sweat (crypto) is also slow and a little confusing. However, it's a solid app.
So far it's a good app. I haven't yet really found any "perks" that are pertinent to me, though. My main issue is that this doesn't sync with my Samsung watch or the fitness app on my phone that tracks my watch. My steps are a good 2000 or more less than my watch by the end of the day because I don't always have my phone on me! That shoud be updated to include the Samsung watch.
