People generally do not like the BCBS app, complaining about frequent technical errors, slow loading times, login issues, and difficulty in making payments, although a few users have found it useful and easy to navigate when it works correctly.
When I've tried to open the app over the last few weeks, I've just been getting a spinning circle for ages until it times out. My phone is updated to date, I've uninstalled/reinstalled the app, restarted the phone, cleared cache/data with no success. Now it's a continuous "unexpected technical error". The app was great back when it worked, even if the physician finder feature wasn't updated.
I found a workaround for "unable to login". If the display size on your phone is set to "Large", the app will not allow you to log in. If the display size is reset to "Default" the app works normally. You may then reset the display size back to "Large". On my phone display size is set by going to: Settings - Display - Advanced - Display size. This will vary depending on which version of the Android operating system you are using. I've notified BCBSM tech support about this problem.
Horrible. Previous problems with the app but recently it was working fine, and I assumed glitches were fixed. Today I needed to access information and make a contribution, and it required an update before I could continue. Since the update I've had to login 4 times & still haven't completed the transaction. Fingerprint ID didn't work at first. Password method failed. Texts with verification codes are slower than usual. Error with first contribution, 2nd try no confirmation. Frustrating.
PLEASE FIX THIS!!! Can't pay on the app or website now 😡😡😡Every single time I click "pay your premium" for the past several months it just buffers & shows the spinning wheel and never opens the section to allow me to pay. I've had to use the chat since this began in order to pay my premium, but that can be annoying and it's also nice to just be able to check that tab periodically to make sure I remembered to pay it that month. Please fix this issue!

Design: 4 stars; Execution: 0 stars. App looks good but is prohibitively slow and unreliable. I can execute the same actions from my phone's web browser in about 1/10 the time as the app. Point in case: using mobile website I was able to log in, add a payment method and then pay my bill & print a receipt BEFORE this app was able to log in to my account. Same phone, same connection.
I don't have reliable access to a computer. This app is fine except for the most important things such as making payments to keep my insurance! I click on "pay your premium" and am met with a never ending loading screen. Luckily I found out I can pay on the web page through the Google app, but the point of an app like this is supposed to be convenience and unfortunately it fails.
Possibly the worst app I have ever had he misfortune of being told to download. Lost track of the number of times I was forced to put in the exact same information 3 times in a row. Map functions do not work with the app constantly telling me I have no internet while I'm sitting at home with high speed wifi. DISABLES THE BACK BUTTON for some God-forsaken reason. All in all 100% unusable and I would rather sit on hold for 20 minutes every time I have to call BCBS than use this trash.
This Blue Cross app has alot of glitches. Continuously displays incorrect information, and at times the plan information is not there. Sometimes for several days. Hopefully this can be fixed someday.
Not working at all. Just states an unexpected error occurred. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it just gives the error every time.
I absolutely despise Blue Cross Blue Shields entire program they are extremely complicated to find anybody that goes into network with them and their website is inaccurate of who is their network I have to have four wisdom teeth removed and they will barely cover any of it So not only am I screwed financially I'm screwed when it comes to my dental insurance not to mention my vision too
