Review Summary
Users generally do not like the myPhonak app due to frequent connectivity issues, unreliable settings that revert to default or automatic mode, and overall buggy performance, although some appreciate its customizable features and background noise suppression options when it does function properly.
Even though it functions OK as a basic hearing aid, it is not worth the money. For the amount you pay more advanced features should be available. For instance, you should be able to hear and talk to someone over your phone like any normal, far less expensive, Bluetooth earbud system. The separately purchased Bluetooth TV connector for over $250 does not allow you to fully mute the TV input nor does it coordinate with the TV's remote control. The app is not that flexible either.

This thing is buggy AF, however, it does provide a ton of benefits over using just the hearing aid. You can set your own modes for when you want your cybernetic implant to decrease all sound, with the exception of a single spectrum of your choosing. Right now, I have it suppressing all background noise and it's so peaceful. It takes some getting used to this app, but, for all it offers, it's definitely worth it.

Overall the app works. However, it always defaults to "Automatic". Automatic sounds awful to me and I must then change it back to my custom program. Please let me set which program I want to use as the default. Every hearing aid is customized so let me pick the custom program that I want and not your "Automatic" program. Let me know if this is something that you are considering.

To minimize the occurrence of this behavior, we recommend turning off tones in your smartphone settings. Please see the link below for more information: https://product-support.phonak.com/s/article/Hearing-aids-switch-program-when-receiving-a-sound-notification?language=en_US
After having had about a month to try the app I like the ability to customize specific presets with my hearing aid. I hope in future updates you include an option to visually check the remaining battery percentage of the hearing aid battery. Also it would be nice to have the audio customization options a little bit more prominent. Aside from that I think the app is really nice.

Thank your for your feedback. Please note, the battery status is only visible in the app for rechargeable hearing aids. If you have any other suggestions on how we could improve and enhance your user experience, please don't hesitate to share them with us.
😤😬😡 MAKE BT PAIRING MODE AVAILABLE **IN THE APP**!! How/why is this not a standard option/function?!? Seriously!! It's a PITA to have to turn them on/off by hand. Takes too long & requires too precise of button pushing. 😤😬 Keep volume levels locked t (from a week+ ago ⬇️) (App) Response time is way slower than it should be. Pairing is confusing. Don't like how if you have 2 of them they're conjoined. Wish you could choose which one (L/R) OR if you want Both sides for BT phone calls.

Awful app! Does not allow me to control bluetooth streaming settings. App automatically switches to Bluetooth streaming if I receive a text or email. Causes windy noise in my ears. Burns up my battery with endless notifications. Doesn't connect easily and disconnects frequently. Phonaks response is to tell me that I can unpair the phone for audio & phone calls. The entire point of Bluetooth is to connect. Their app doesn't allow me to control the BT audio sound, unless connected. It's awful!
Developer response:
Hi! Pairing your hearing aids with the app is separate from pairing them with your smartphone for streaming audio and phone calls. If you prefer not to stream audio from your phone to your hearing aids, you can follow the instructions in this link: https://product-support.phonak.com/s/article/Unpairing-iPhone-and-Phonak-hearing-aid?language=en_US.
Never connect. App does no good . When it does, it changes settings back to automatic. One connects the other doesn't then on some days its the other way around. If either connects at all. Done with the app and these hearing aids. I'm glad I'm still in the trial period. Now while reading reviews, I see that these issues have been going on since 2022 at least. What kind of tech department are you running. These bugs are terrible. Fix it. Having to uninstall the app almost daily just don't cut it.

It's nice to have Bluetooth to stream audio directly to my hearing aid, and to be able to adjust and save settings. But this app is buggy, and almost too annoying to use at times. Constantly disconnects, or reverts to "Automatic" when I've chosen another profile. It's like it fights me for control of my hearing aid. I've used it with two different kinds of hearing aid: in the ear and behind the ear. The connection was a little better with the BTE aid, but the app still randomly changed profiles.

This would be an ok app but I get a few seconds of static/white noise over my new hearing aids whenever I do anything with any of the other apps on my phone. Sounds like an old steam radiator. Can't find any way to get rid of it other than turn off Bluetooth, which defeats the purpose of having the app in the first place, as well as disconnecting my other Bluetooth items. This is with an Android phone, which Phonacs are supposed to be more compatible with than other brands.

Terrible app.... The app does whatever it wants. I created a setting for WORK, I got it to save but the app still changes the selected setting when it wants. If I use my phone, just waking it up to check the time I get loud background noise. Don't even try to watch a video or music, the settings change on their own and the noise is so loud you can't hear the audio. The app discourages me from using my hearing aids s what good are they?
