Review Summary
The app Pill Reminder & Health Tracker is generally effective and highly praised for helping users, especially those with ADHD or requiring strict medication schedules, to manage their doses and health data efficiently; however, many users dislike its aggressive reminders, intrusive ads, and a lack of customization options, often making it frustrating and sometimes unsafe to use in certain situations.
Lost patience for this app. Some need a hard reminder after hitting snooze, but I don't, & there's no way to turn that off. I could be in the middle of something important or trying to answer a call, and the hard reminder shuts me out if it. Then there's the ads. I could upgrade for ad-free, but there was a time such a simple app might be a reasonable one-time or yearly fee of $5. Now it's monthly. Tired of being milked by techies who want to retire early or rule the world. No thx.
Developer response:
Sorry for your experience. Please go to Settings > Smart & Safety and turn on 'Auto Snooze During Calls' to reduce interruptions. Also, we do offer a yearly subscription option, and we’re continuously updating the premium model. We appreciate your understanding, and if you have any feedback, feel free to email us at [email protected].
Loved it at first. Now I hate it. They have new pop up ads. So instead of the sound I have chosen to remind me, which is gentle and calming, I get blasted with some annoying version of the Iko Iko song for some pay to play scam game. The only way to get rid of the ads is to pay for their "premium" app. Which is not cheap. Deleting this app and looking for a new one. I don't need all these extra bells and whistles there been adding. I just need an app to remind me to take my medicine, that's it.
Developer response:
Sorry for the inconvenience. Ads come from Google Ads, and we can’t control them, but they help keep Pillo free. We’re working to find a better balance. If you want to remove ads without the full premium package, there’s a more affordable option available. Please check it out, and if you have questions, contact us at [email protected]. Thank you!
Your app is making me think I'm not taking my meds more than once a day! It used to work fine, but after a few updates, even when I've already taken my meds, the reminder pops back up 30 minutes later telling me to take it AGAIN! This is beyond frustrating and dangerous; people are double-dosing because of your app! And as if that wasn’t bad enough, the so-called screen burn-in feature works, but the ads stay at full brightness, causing permanent damage to screens. FIX THIS NOW!
Developer response:
We’re very sorry for the issue and frustration caused. Could you share more details? Was the repeated reminder a full-screen alert or a push notification? And when you get reminders on time, are they full-screen or push notifications? Your input will help us investigate. Please email us at [email protected]. Thank you!
This app is great for reminding me to take my medications, but lately the ads have gotten so much worse to the point of me changing my rating on here. The ads sometimes pop up as the alarm is ringing and when my phone is locked, very disorienting when you're asleep and suddenly hear your alarm and a gambling ad on full blast at the same time. Not only have the ads gotten worse, but now it sometimes forgets when I log a dose too, which is super annoying. Will be finding a different app.
Developer response:
We’re sorry for the inconvenience you’ve experienced and for the frustrating ad experience. Could you also share more details about the issue with logging doses? Your input will help us investigate and fix the issue as soon as possible. Feel free to email us at [email protected]. Thank you for your feedback!
It's almost perfect. It seems to have a deal breaker of a bug where it takes over the alarm shortcut in the menu pull down so it shows the pillo notification for a med rather than the intended behavior of brining up the alarm section of the clock app. Also the concealment toggle of the medication list is frustrating I'd rather have a tabs with the different category meds.
This app is very handy! It's easy to use, the UI is clean, & the features work as expected. You can schedule reminders for each medication according to the specific time, frequency, and dosage needed. You can input additional info about each med (the prescribing doc, their phone number, office location). You can also enter the name, number, & address of your pharmacy. I definitely recommend this app for anyone who'd like to track their medication adherence and health data all in one place!
Game changer if you have ADHD and struggle to remember to take your meds while snoozing a ton of alarms instead of listening to them. This app can be configured to not allow you to open any other app (except maybe to send/finish a message) until you take the meds and confirm it's done. You can choose your own ringtone, even ones you download from other apps or sites. You can set up vitals checks if you'd like to (like weight, heartrate, etc.). You even donate to charity when you take meds!
I am *loving* this App. I take a lot of pills at lots of different intervals, but this App has made it smooth and easy to handle. I love all the different features, being able to postpone 1 or many Meds at a time. The driving mode is great! If your phone is moving over 15mph (I think) it automatically recognizes this and will postpone the meds for a time frame you choose (I use 1 hour). It has never failed me. It gives me a nudge 3 min before it's time for my meds so I can postpone or get ready.
I use my phone for work and I work in emergency service and multiple times I am in the middle of using my phone in an emergency and the damn notification pops up and while I'm trying to qork through a person literally dying the app won't go away easily. There needs to be easier access to a snooze that doesn't interupt calls or other app usage

We’re truly sorry for the trouble. To help prevent this in the future, you can turn on the Smart Alarm options. Please go to Settings > Smart & Safety and enable 'Auto snooze during calls' and 'Early snooze for phone in use.' This should minimize interruptions. If you need any further help, feel free to reach out at [email protected]
It's too angry, without responsiveness to tailoring. It's really annoying that to actually register taking a pill you have to click so many buttons - including an annoying and pointless, from my perspective, countdown timer after you click rate. But the worst is that it interrupts everything even if you turn off all settings. I've turned off the music - still annoying music with every notification. I've clicked not to override do not disturb - sure does override anyways. Really frustrating.
